Ipoh Heritage Trail map two and Ipoh

We have yet to have commitment from Datok Bandar to preserve the old buildings of Old Town.

YB Dato Hamidah has even gone to the press in her efforts to get some reaction from him, alas to no avail.

Map two covering Kampong Kuchai area will be launched in November by YB.

Work is underway to preserve Forest Lodge. Calendar of events for 2011 and 2012 are being drawn up and should be completed by middle of October.

The problem is all these efforts will be of no use if all the buildings are gone…..

Saving KNP

How are we going to Save Kinta Nature Park when we don't even have a workable plan to maintain and secure the place?

YB Hamidah like most of us really does love this beautiful heronry of ours. We have finally managed to get rid of the illegal sand miners and the bee-eaters are slowly coming back to nest.

Unfortunately the duck farm is still on the main lake disturbing the heronry. The resulting worsening of the water quality of the lake as a result of this farm has resulted in a drastic fall in the number of herons roosting on the island.

The illegal fish farm that has yet to be removed has not help matter either.

Meeting with Dato Hamidah

Have just spent the afternoon meeting with Dato Hamidah. Her love for Perak can be seen in her eyes when she is chasing everyone to fix up the State. Her commitment to Perak can be seen in her never ending efforts.
Dato Hamidah has done more for Perak than any government body.
She really needs and deserve the support of all Perakians. Dato is really our only true savior.

The future of Kinta Heritage

It’s been close to 12 months since we distributed our first Ipoh Heritage Trail map 1, and there has been some activity in Ipoh. The government seems to be showing more interest in Lorong Panglima. And our little #5 has also been in the news more often now.

The Heritage walk is slowly building steam with more and more foreigners taking part in the weekly walks.

My problem is:
What is our next move?
How can we contribute to the growth in real tourism in Ipoh?
